(Of course, in the case of a defective product, the item would be cheerfully replaced!)
The 7-ply "Ultra" version of this set includes all the same pieces but the dome cover for the roaster has a capsule bottom so it can be used as a pan on the stove. The two extra plies are specific metals for extra conductivity on the induction cooktops. Other than those two differences, there is no noticeable difference in the sets. A friend of mine has the seven-ply set, and we could tell virtually no difference in the weight (and she almost never uses the lid as an extra pan). We do offer that set for $390 for those who prefer the 7-ply and want the extra "pan."
